The harassment caused by demons had increased greatly in Chhapiya. Therefore, Dharmadev and Bhaktimata took their two sons with them and went to stay at the home of Dharmadev’s friend, Pratik, in the village of Tinva.
(At dusk, Bhaktimata speaks to Pratik’s wife.)
Bhaktimata: Please let me go and fetch water from the well today. You take care of the children.
Chamanbai, Pratik’s wife: Certainly, you may go. But be careful—the well here is inhabited by restless spirits. Make sure they do not trouble you.
Bhaktimata goes to the well located outside the village to fetch water. As soon as she lowers the pot, tied with a rope, into the well to draw water, the spirits inside suddenly grab hold of the rope.
(Various sounds of the spirits, such as terrifying laughter and screams.)
Bhaktimata (frightened): It seems Chamanbai was right. I feel as though there is someone inside the well.
(Frightened, Bhaktimata hurriedly returns home without taking the pot.)
When Bhaktimata returns home frightened and empty-handed, Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj asks her the reason for her fear.
Ghanshyam: What happened, Mother? Why are you so frightened?
Bhaktimata tells Him about the spirits living inside the well.
(The earlier scene may be repeated as a flashback.)
Hearing this, Shri Bal Ghanshyam says:
Ghanshyam: Come, Mother. I will come with you. Let me see who they really are.
Ghanshyam goes to the well and jumps into it with the intention of granting liberation to the spirits. Initially, the spirits approach Ghanshyam to trouble Him. However, due to the divine radiance emanating from Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj, which was as brilliant as the light of millions of suns, they begin to burn.
The spirits pray to Shri Hari:
“O Compassionate Lord, Lord of all gods, Shri Hari, please grant us liberation.”
(Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj stands in the center in a blessing posture, while the spirits stand around Him with folded hands.)
Ghanshyam: Go to Badrikashram and perform penance there. Through this, you will attain liberation.
Thus, Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj, who is compassionate toward those who surrender to Him, an ocean of mercy, and the savior of all souls, was pleased by the prayers of the spirits and granted liberation to all of them.
(Show countless spirits emerging from the well and ascending toward the sky.)
Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj emerges from the well. Bhaktimata runs toward Him and embraces Him.
(Camera tilts upward to show the spirits ascending into the sky.)
Therefore, this well came to be known as the “Bhutiyo Well” (Well of Spirits).
